Reconstruction Surgery

Hey Everyone....

It's been a few weeks since I have done a Blog entry, so I figured with my recent reconstruction surgery, I would fill everyone in on what's been going on.

Tuesday November 18, was the big day!!  Dr. Janssen had his plate full with my surgery, they exchanged my expander's for new Mentor Implants, nipple/areola reconstruction, fat grafting, and some Lipo.  Dr. Janssen was able to accomplish it all and even snook in a mini Tummy Tuck too!!  Surgery lasted about 3 hours, and I was in and out and home within 6.5 hours.  The pain was seriously like a 3 on a pain scale compared to 10+ from the last surgery.

I got home and things have been going o.k.  I have more pain from the Lipo and Tummy tuck than I do in the breasts.  I did have a bit of a scare and had to be seen in the office yesterday due to my left breast incision that wouldn't stop bleeding.  Nothing much to worry about and they decided to let it drain instead of going back down to the OR for another surgery.  It's still a bit leaky today, so hopefully that will lighten up soon.

I was very nervous what the outcome was going to be.  Unfortunately he wasn't able to get me all the way back to the size I was, but they are perky and I will take that over the huge size.  Over the next few months they will continue to settle into place, and continue to "fluff." They actually look quite all right I must say, so I am not too worried about that anymore.  I have these silly looking nipple covers over my new nipples that Dr. Janssen reconstructed for me.  They remind me of booby tassels...LOL  Don't want to take the risk of bumping the nipple and knocking them off.  When I have on a shirt over them it looks like I have my headlights on all the time...LOL  I should get those off either Monday or the following Monday, I can't remember when they said. I have been dealing with some weird blotching of my skin that I am keeping a very close eye on, and making sure that I don't develop a fever at all....so far so good, so I will just keep monitoring!

I am just taking things day by day and I will be home until Dec. 2.  I love visitor's so if you have nothing going on, stop on by and say Hello!!
